banana hamburger

went to birds before seeing a show at the UCB theater.  shared a appetizer sampler platter with steph and louie.  fried onions, fried chicken, fried jalapenos stuffed with cheddar.  it’s hard to go wrong.

frosted cupcakery in hollywood.  cute and delicious.  cupcakes 4 ever.

i went to an amazing hamburger spot on pico called the apple pan.  unfortunately i didn’t get a picture of the burger because i was too busy eating it.  can i say?  best burger i’ve ever eaten.  also good, the coffee and this off the hook banana cream pie.  it’s tiny, just a u-shaped counter around a kitchen, but your food comes out fast and the dudes behind the counter are snappy and gruff but you know, with a heart of gold.  old school for real.  the moment i left i was sad i wasn’t there anymore.

fried pickles.  some crazy mess of fries, blue cheese, bacon and buffalo sauce.  seal beach, ca.

someone got this spread at a spot called jessie’s hot house on the sfsu campus.  i can’t remember the last time i was like, “damn, i got to jump on the M and get me down to State.”

i went to a crab feed and they had cakes there.  lots of cake.

Steve and I went to Harrington’s on Front St the other day…it was pretty nice, I was surprised.  The happy hour isn’t bad, $12 pitchers of all their draft beers (we got Newcastle) and pretty good prices for appetizers (we got the fried calamari).  It was pretty chill inside, not too crowded and pretty quiet.  I got the Dieter’s Plate for dinner, which is something I’ve always thought about doing.  You’ll see this sort of thing in lots of old school places, a hamburger patty, tomato slices and cottage cheese.  It was tasty, even better than I had imagined.  I’d like to go back to Harrington’s soon.
